Description

Green Irish Tweed is the quintessential scent for a spring day when the weather is just right – not too hot, but no longer cold. This fragrance offers a revitalizing break from the chill of winter, presenting a clean, safe, and refreshingly fresh scent. Green Irish Tweed by Creed is a classic Fougere fragrance. One of the signature scents of the house of Creed, this "walk through the Irish countrywide" is a favorite of many celebrities. The fragrance is rich, fresh, sporty and unforgettable. The “notes” (iris, verbena etc) are the same, but there is more clarity, depth, nuance, dynamics, and projection in the GIT. It is obviously a higher quality, and the notes resonate together in harmonic bliss. The CW version is unmoving and linear, while GIT will have you escape to another dimension; especially in the opening. Let me give you the truth about GIT, Cool Water and all the other fragrances in that category. Yes, the ultimate truth so listen up:

I had sprayed this on my arm and I couldn't stop huffing it all evening, even lying in bed I was smelling my arm enveloped in nostalgia. By the morning the scent had weakened, but the DNA was still on my skin and it made me wake up happy. Nostalgia bottled. Yes, you will have smelt this many times before, but for good reason – it's always in season, and probably always will be.After 7-8 hours, you start getting into to the dry down, now, here is where it starts to smell really close to davidoff cool water with approximately 80% similarity. When the fragrance is in the air there is almost no difference, however, if you dig your nose to where you sprayed it, you will smell the difference in the quality of the ingredients. Green Irish Tweed has more pronounced notes whilst david-off cool water's more blurry. (Like you watch a movie in 1080p-Green Irish Tweed and 360p-Davidoff Cool Water) I don’t think you could ever wear this and overpower anyone, as it is not strong in the sense that it doesn’t shoot up your nose or have any sharp or chemical edges. I just feel it gives me and anyone close to me a gentle hug and a feeling of warmth.

It seems that the formulation is past its best. Creed always insist they don't reformulate and then give us some garb about variation due to natural ingredients. I don't believe it for a single moment. The truth for me is that those trying this for the first time today will never know or understand what this most definitely was but is not any longer. That is a tragedy because this was utterly sublime and would be worth every penny even at todays prices. Of all niche fragrances, it seems this is the easiest to clone. There are so many out there that come super crazy close to cloning this. I wear them all and really don’t have much loyalty to one or the other. The opening of Creed's Green Irish Tweed is undeniably earthy, encapsulating the "Green" in its name. This fresh, crisp, and clean fragrance exudes an airy quality, as if you're inhaling the refreshing scents of a cool breeze on a verdant landscape.I grabbed a few samples of the latest batch (2021/2022?) from Paris’ Creed Boutique, and unless my skin chemistry has drastically changed this is NOT my beloved Green Irish Tweed I remember from previous bottles between 2015-2018: most of the beautiful, vibrant violet & ‘green’ notes have been lost to a soapy, salty ambergris that smells too much like sweat. As much I enjoy this juice, you can easily get lost with all the dupes that exist. There's a definite similarty to Cool water, but it has more of synthetic vib. Instead Green Irish Tweed has more of a herbal base with a definite green notes. My favorite fragrance of all time, and the only one that has (so far) survived the continual Creed degradation (looking at you, Aventus). Cool Water, Cool Water Intense, and Cool Water Parfum are massively popular in the fragrance community. It doesn’t matter what you’re wearing, the CW series will never disappoint you in the case of getting compliments.

A classic fougere. I see why it is so popular. Fresh, sporty, classy, sophisticated, bright, refreshing. Green Irish Tweed opens with top notes of iris and lemon verbena. The middle notes include violet leaves. The base notes are ambergris and Mysore sandalwood. It's 8.15AM when I arrive at work, go to the mail room and find the box sat in my tray. I hurry outside eager to find out just what the hell I'd spent all this money on. I needn't have worried because, from that first spray I experienced a sort of moment of nirvana. I arrived at a place of understanding, a dawning realisation that even in the world of fragrance, there was a next level....and this was that next level. Every pound I'd spent blind was instantly justified and even rewarded with the sense that here was the best smell I had ever smelled! For those reviewers going on about how “The world has moved past this 80’s smell blablabla..It's dated...." Has the world moved on from Mozart? Bach? No, that's why it's "classical". So, for compliments, any of these scents will work. But if we compare, Cool Water is the clear winner here. Versatility

They somehow managed to bottle a rainy forest. It’s so incredibly calming. It’s as if they bottled the phrase ”it’s going to be alright”. Pure pure art. The dry down is the real show stopper and the performance on my F-batch is insanely good. My problem is with longevity and boringness. I'm on my 3rd bottle. I would buy one get bored and sell it, then proceed to miss it and buy another one. Now, I've just decided to keep it in my collection. As we can see, Cool Water Parfum used lemon and pink pepper in the opening. The opening of CW Parfum is citrusy and spicy. A scent that does not fail to impress [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My goodness what an alluring aroma!

And lastly, Cool Water Parfum used Haitian vetiver in the middle and sandalwood in the end. For fresh fragrances, these types of notes are not considered in general. And it caused a lot of controversies in the fragrance community. You must take in consideration that Creed wouldn't put a product on the market without it going through several tests to ensure that their clients will recieve a purfume that's more than just good. I have both Aventus and GIT, and I like the former much more by a long shot. I get too much of a musky smell from Aventus, which is not to my preference. Davidoff came with the parfum version of CW in 2021. This version of CW is smooth and delicious. And gathered so much love in a short time.
